The Best Jobber Alternatives for Small HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Shops (2026)

Seven alternatives to Jobber for shops with 2 to 15 trucks, with each one's published price (or the fact it has none), AI call answering, and who each one suits better than Jobber.

8 min read

The best Jobber alternatives for a small trade shop are Housecall Pro (a similar suite, $79 to $329 a month), Kickserv (from $75 for five users), Service Fusion (unlimited users from $245), Workiz and FieldPulse (both quote only), and CrewRobin if missed calls are the real problem (from $99 with an AI receptionist included). ServiceTitan suits much larger operations.

Jobber is a good product, and for plenty of shops the right answer is to stay. This list is for owners who've hit one of its limits: the price jump between user brackets, features locked to a higher tier, or a phone that still goes unanswered. Prices are the regular rates on each vendor's own page on 30 October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Cheapest for a team: Kickserv Start is $75 a month for five users, against $199 for Jobber Connect at five users.
  • Closest like-for-like: Housecall Pro, at $189 for five users with financing, a price book and review management on every plan.
  • Unlimited users: Service Fusion, from $245 a month.
  • AI answering included in the plan: CrewRobin. Jobber's AI Receptionist is a $29 add-on; Housecall Pro, Workiz, FieldPulse and Service Fusion price theirs on request.

Disclosure: we make CrewRobin, which competes with the tools in this post. Every figure about Jobber and the alternatives comes from the vendor's own public pages (or, where we say so, a dated third-party capture of them), read on 30 October 2026 and linked at the end. Where a price isn't published, we say so rather than guess.

Why do shops look for a Jobber alternative?

  • User brackets. Jobber prices at 1, 5, 10 and 15 users. A sixth person moves Connect from $199 to $228 (with an extra user at $29) or $299 for the 10-user plan.
  • Features by tier. QuickBooks Online sync needs Connect; two-way texting and job costing need Grow ($299 for five users); crew scheduling and custom reports need Plus.
  • Add-ons. AI Receptionist $29, Pipeline $49 and Marketing Suite $99 a month unless you're on Plus.
  • Prepaid yearly plans are non-refundable, so the cheapest rate locks you in for the year.

Full figures are in Jobber pricing.

Which Jobber alternatives are worth a look?

1. Housecall Pro

Best for: Shops that want a Jobber-style suite with financing and a price book on the cheapest plan
Price: Basic $79/month (1 user); Essentials $189 (5 users); Max $329 (8 users, +$35 each); $59, $149 and $299 billed yearly

Online booking, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management on every plan; GPS, routes, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync on Essentials; recurring service plans and route optimization on Max. No long-term contract, and a 14-day trial of Max.

Where it shines: The most complete entry plan of the tools that publish prices.

Watch out for: CSR AI call answering and the Voice phone product cost extra, and CSR AI's price isn't published.

2. Kickserv

Best for: Small teams on a tight budget who answer their own phone
Price: Start $75/month (5 users); Run $149 (10 users); Scale $249 (20 users); $60, $119 and $199 billed yearly

Scheduling, estimates, invoicing and payments for small teams, with a 30-day free trial. Start lists QuickBooks Online integration, and QuickBooks Desktop is $50 a month on Run. Plans get 5% off if you process a minimum in online payments each month ($1,000 on Start).

Where it shines: The lowest published price for a five-person team.

Watch out for: We found no AI call answering or phone features on its pages.

3. Service Fusion

Best for: Crews big enough that per-user pricing hurts
Price: Starter $245/month; Plus $382; Pro $627, all with unlimited users; 15% off billed yearly ($208, $325, $533, paid up front)

Every plan has unlimited users and no contract requirement. ServiceCall.ai (AI answering) and GPS fleet tracking are add-ons with no published price, and the pricing page offers a demo rather than a free trial.

Where it shines: No per-user fees, which favours bigger crews.

Watch out for: The highest entry price of the tools that publish, and its AI answering is priced on request.

4. Workiz

Best for: Shops that want AI answering for calls, texts and web leads inside the field service tool
Price: Quote only (Standard, Pro, Ultimate); Genius add-ons sold separately

Scheduling, route planning, payments, QuickBooks and a mobile app, with service plans, proposals and inventory on Ultimate. Genius Answering, sold separately, handles calls, texts, email and web forms in English and Spanish. See Workiz pricing for what its page has shown this year.

Where it shines: The broadest AI answering of the field service suites.

Watch out for: Every plan and add-on is quoted, and its pricing page changed plans and prices several times in 2026.

5. FieldPulse

Best for: Shops that want to build a package module by module
Price: Quote only; seat-based

Pricing is "built around what your team needs". Optional products include Operator AI and Chat AI, a price book, payments, financing and fleet tracking; its Maverick AI assistant is included on all plans.

Where it shines: You buy the modules you need rather than a fixed tier.

Watch out for: No published price for the plan or any add-on.

6. FieldEdge

Best for: HVAC shops that sell service agreements and want a sales-led setup
Price: Quote only (Select, Premier, Elite); no free trial

Select, Premier and Elite come with 2, 4 and 6 mobile app licenses. Premier adds multi-option quotes and advanced service agreements; Elite adds call recording, Proposal Pro and two-way marketing texts. FieldEdge says pricing "can vary" with your number of technicians and add-ons.

Where it shines: HVAC-style selling tools and service agreements.

Watch out for: No trial, no published prices, and mobile licenses capped by tier.

7. CrewRobin (our product)

Best for: Shops with 2 to 15 trucks whose biggest leak is missed calls
Price: Starter $99/month (2 seats); Pro $199 (5 seats); Crew $349 (15 seats); yearly is 10× the monthly price; free until your first 10 booked jobs, no card up front

An AI receptionist that answers every call, checks the caller's ZIP and books the job on a technician's calendar, with missed-call text-back, online booking, reminders, good-better-best quotes, invoices by text, Google review requests, a price book, maintenance plans and a dispatch board on every plan. Month to month, with no setup fee.

Where it shines: AI answering and the follow-up around each job are in the plan price.

Watch out for: No native app, fleet GPS, routing, QuickBooks or Xero sync, or financing; the receptionist speaks English only; up to 15 seats; and it's new.

We left ServiceTitan off the main list: it's quote-only, per technician and built for larger operations. If you're weighing it, see ServiceTitan alternatives.

Which Jobber alternative fits which shop?

  • You want the same kind of all-round app at a similar price: Housecall Pro. See Jobber vs Housecall Pro.
  • Budget is the deciding factor and you answer the phone yourself: Kickserv.
  • You have more than about ten people who need logins: price Service Fusion's unlimited users against Jobber's 10- and 15-user plans.
  • Calls go unanswered while you're on a job: CrewRobin, or Jobber's own $29 AI Receptionist if you'd rather stay. See CrewRobin vs Jobber.
  • You need fleet GPS, QuickBooks sync or financing: most of these have them; CrewRobin doesn't.

What does switching from Jobber involve?

Export your clients, jobs and invoices from Jobber as files before you cancel, and ask the new vendor what it can import and who does the work. Plan the move for a quiet week, and keep Jobber running until the first week's jobs are in the new system.

CrewRobin imports customers, jobs and invoices from Jobber export files (CSV or XLSX) once, with a preview of how each column is read and an undo. It's a one-time import, not a sync. See switching from Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan.
