Field service software pricing and alternatives

Field service software runs a trade shop's jobs from booking to payment: scheduling and dispatch, quotes, invoices, payments and customer records. Prices are hard to compare because vendors charge in different ways: per user, per technician, or a flat fee with unlimited users, and several only quote after a demo. Add-ons change the total, especially AI call answering, which most tools sell separately. These guides take prices from each vendor's own pricing page, give the month we checked, and compare CrewRobin with Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Workiz and others, including where each one does more than CrewRobin.

What does field service software cost in 2026?

Field service software pricing 2026 found five of nine tools publishing prices (Jobber, Housecall Pro, Service Fusion, Kickserv and CrewRobin). Published plans ran from $49 (Jobber Core, one person) to $699 (Jobber Plus, 15 users), with Service Fusion from $245 for unlimited users. Yearly billing typically saves 15% to 30%, but some annual plans are non-refundable. Each big vendor has its own breakdown: Jobber pricing, Housecall Pro pricing, ServiceTitan pricing and Workiz pricing. CrewRobin's three plans are on the pricing page.

Which field service software fits a small HVAC or plumbing shop?

The best field service software for small shops sorts the options: Kickserv and Jobber are the easiest on the budget, while ServiceTitan and FieldEdge are built for bigger, office-staffed operations. If you're choosing between the two most common picks, read Jobber vs Housecall Pro. If you're leaving one, see Jobber alternatives, Housecall Pro alternatives and ServiceTitan alternatives.

Is AI call answering included, or an add-on?

Usually an add-on. Jobber's AI Receptionist is $29 a month; Housecall Pro's CSR AI and Workiz's Genius Answering are sold separately at unpublished prices. The best AI receptionists for home services run from Rosie at $49 a month to Avoca, which quotes after a demo. The best answering services for contractors compares live services, which work out to roughly $1.30 to $5 a minute at their published plan prices. The question that matters most is where the booked job ends up.

How does CrewRobin compare with the full field service suites?

Most of the suites do more: native mobile apps, fleet GPS, QuickBooks sync and consumer financing, none of which CrewRobin has. CrewRobin's case is the AI receptionist in every plan. See CrewRobin vs Jobber (one person on Connect plus the AI Receptionist is $168 a month against $99 for Starter), Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Workiz, FieldEdge, FieldPulse, Service Fusion and Kickserv. Housecall Pro, for one, starts at $79 a month and includes financing through Wisetack; FieldPulse and FieldEdge quote and offer no free trial. CrewRobin publishes three plans ($99, $199 and $349 a month) and is free until your first 10 booked jobs, with no card up front.

How does CrewRobin compare with answering services and AI front-office tools?

Answering services bill by the minute or the call, and the AI front-office tools mostly quote. Ruby bills by receptionist minute, from 50 minutes for $250 a month (see CrewRobin vs Ruby); Smith.ai's human plans start at $300 a month for 30 calls (see CrewRobin vs Smith.ai). Avoca and Podium don't publish prices (see CrewRobin vs Avoca and CrewRobin vs Podium). CrewRobin's receptionist is AI only and English only, and it books into its own calendar.

What should you ask a quote-only vendor?

Workiz, FieldPulse, ServiceTitan and FieldEdge quote rather than publish. Ask each for the full yearly cost including users or technicians, AI answering, phone, onboarding fees and contract length, in writing, and check whether an annual plan is refundable. Compare that total, not the headline price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does field service software cost?

Small-business tools such as Jobber and Housecall Pro list monthly plans that rise with users and features, while Workiz and enterprise platforms such as ServiceTitan quote on request. Add-ons for phones, marketing and payments change the total, so compare the full bill.

What is the best field service software for a small shop?

The one that fixes your biggest leak: scheduling and invoicing for a busy owner-operator, dispatch for a growing crew, or call answering if missed calls cost you jobs. The roundups below compare them on those jobs.

Can I switch field service software without losing my data?

Usually you can export customers, jobs and invoices as spreadsheets and import them into the new tool. Plan the switch for a slower week and move open jobs by hand.

Does field service software answer the phone?

Most don't on their own; some sell an AI or live answering add-on. CrewRobin includes an AI receptionist that answers and books calls.
